Have you been thinking about changing up your life a bit by switching locations?
There are thousands of places to choose from all over the world. We think that
our little corner of heaven in Durham has a lot to offer someone interested
in moving; here are some of the reasons why.
Climate
As is the case with much of North Carolina, you can expect to find great weather
in the Durham region. The summers are balmy enough without being too hot; rarely
do temperatures climb above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and when they do it is only
during hot spells that are occurring throughout the Eastern seaboard.
Winters in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, where Durham is located,
are more severe than in cities along the Atlantic coast but still fairly mild
nonetheless. You won't have to visit your local nursery supply store here
in order to keep exotic foliage alive throughout the winter; the cold spells
don't last long enough to affect their growth negatively.
Scenery
If you have seen some of the beautiful Oakville wedding reception locations,
you might find it hard to believe that there is somewhere which can rival them
in appearance and abundance. Well, North Carolina and Durham have it beat in
both areas. The entire state is one of great diversity, where the mountainous
regions of the North start to blend into the bayous and plains of the South.
This transitional zone means you can find all manner of scenery and recreational
opportunities all around Durham. If ocean trips are your interest, the Atlantic
coast is a short 45 minute drive away! That means that even living in landlocked
Durham, you won't have to worry that your new sailboat keel won't
get a workout frequently in the summer months.
Education
Durham is a part of what is known as the Research Triangle in the state of
North Carolina. This area is home to hundreds of different high tech companies,
all of whom draw from the educated labor pool created by the nearby universities.
Those universities are amongst the most prestigious in the United States, particularly
when it comes to churning out quality high tech grads. Both Duke University
and North Carolina Central University are located within Durham.
Economy
The quality of the education in Durham is proven by the fact that so many businesses
are drawn there in order to take advantage of the local labor pool. From Alfred
Sung wedding outlets to bars, this labor pool in turn attracts other businesses,
resulting in one of the strongest and most diverse local economies to be found
in the United States.
An integrated economy, in turn, provides further appeal to Durham for the person
interested in a wealth of opportunities. If you are looking for a unique day
spa from which you can purchase a Valentines gift certificate, you
will find it. Local football game enthusiast? You'll find plenty of viewing
available in Durham.
All in all, Durham is one city that can really be said to have it all when
it comes to attractions for prospective buyers. If you feel the need for a change,
and want to make it as safe as possible, this is the city to look at.
